Who am I?

Welcome! I'm Ryan Potter, a Computer Science graduate at the University of Vermont with a deep passion for photography. My journey began several years ago, evolving from a simple hobby to a profound pursuit of visual storytelling. Landscape photography is my forte, where I aim to capture the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural world in all its intricate detail. Recently, I've branched into people photography, delighting in the challenge of encapsulating raw emotions and unique expressions. This journey has been a fascinating blend of spontaneity and artistry, revealing not just faces, but stories. Through this website, I share my adventures and interpretations of the world around us. My goal is to offer a visual retreat that evokes emotions and provokes thought. Let's explore this vibrant world together, one frame at a time.

My gear

As a photographer, my arsenal is a blend of trusted classics and advanced tech. My first love was the Canon EOS Rebel T3, a user-friendly DSLR that offers excellent image quality and played a pivotal role in shaping my photography journey. However, my go-to camera now is the Nikon Z 7 II. This mirrorless gem stands out with its high-resolution capabilities, dynamic range, and superior low-light performance. Its advanced autofocus system is ideal for capturing spontaneous moments with sharp precision. Lastly, the DJI Mini Pro 3, a compact yet powerful drone, takes my photography to new heights. It's instrumental for capturing unique aerial shots in incredible 4K quality, offering an entirely new perspective. Together, this gear allows me to encapsulate the world's beauty, one frame at a time.
